A Fund Announces the ABC Campaign

9.17.2020 Midnight to Midnight

In celebration of its 25th year of being an all-volunteer 501c3 abortion fund, A Fund announced its ABC Campaign:

A: A Fund has been helping KY women pay for Abortion for 27 years. Last year we helped more than 1000 women to access abortion, paying out more than $100,000 to clinics to do so.

B: We are now working with university student health services to make Plan B more affordable and accessible for college women. The number one reason that women drop out of college is unintended pregnancy! Plan B, emergency contraception or “morning after” pills, can prevent pregnancies resulting from date rape, sexual assault or contraceptive failure, for example.

C: Since 2018 we have been helping to provide low cost Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (IUDs and implants) in cooperation with the Ryan Family Planning Clinic at UL School of Medicine.

“Among the primary obstacles people seeking abortions face–the cost of the procedure, the difficulty of getting to the nearest provider, the prospect of onerous abortion restrictions, the fear of stigma in their community, and the presence of protesters at the site itself–the most substantial is financial.”  Foster, Donna Greene.  The Turnaway Study:  Ten Years, a Thousand Women, and the Consequences of Having–or Being Denied–an Abortion.  New York:  Scribner, 2020:65.
